Beach Daze

I purchased a pair of $7.99 water shoes for my son from Beach Daze. When i paid, Laura charged me an additional .75 for using my credit card. When asked why the additional fee, Laura (owner) stated that it makes more sense for her to charge everyone who uses a card an additional .75, no matter what they spend. Ummmm…what?? She then reached behind the counter and pulled out a laminated fee sheet saying she forgot to put the sign out. I asked for a receipt and her machine wasn’t able to produce a full receipt, only half. I’m sorry, but if you’re going to charge me an additional 9% (on top of sales tax) to purchase from you, the least you can do is provide me a receipt. Naturally, i no longer felt good about this purchase and stated i wanted to return the water shoes. Laura became very upset, made a scene in front of my kids and slammed the .75 on the counter and told me to “just take it.” Uh, no thanks! Full return please! After struggling to return the item via her system, she told me the transaction never went through. I checked my bank account immediately and sure enough, it did go through. Nice try Laura. We waited until she was able to produce a receipt stating the transaction was voided. Still waiting for it to show on my account though.
Laura, you stated you’ve owned this store since 1996. How you’ve somehow managed to not figure out customer service skills at this point is beyond me.
I will never shop in this store again and if i could give zero stars, i would.

Typical souvenir shop on the boardwalk with t-shirts, sweatshirts, bathing suits, novelty items, toy cars and trucks. They are also selling some nice Ukelele's.

An all right boardwalk shop. Good for beach cover ups and t shirts.
