Christine was very professional and helpful. I brought in 2 diamond wedding sets that were inherited from my husband’s family. I knew I wanted 2 pendants but had no idea if this was achievable. Christine suggested a halo style which was perfect. She selected a company she trusted to do a nice job and meet my short deadline. I was delighted when they came in because they were gorgeous. I will definitely return to Park Place if I have future repairs or jewelry needs.

To start off, we just moved to Ocean Pines in Feb 2025. So we are still learning places to go shopping. I actually saw the billboard on Ocean Gateway and so I stopped in to buy an engagement ring for my love. My salesperson was Sue and from the start I felt like I was back home in NY. She was informative and not pushy in any way. I felt so comfortable while selecting a ring. The price was right and the ring is gorgeous. I can't thank Sue for enough for doing such a great job and being so helpful to me during the selection process. She answered any and all questions or concerns that I had. You can feel very confident that you will be dealt with in a most friendly, professional and down to earth manner. I highly recommend Park Place Jewelers and I will be back again in the future. Thanks so much Sue.

Do Not Purchase Fine Jewelry Here – Serious Quality Issues & No Accountability - Engagement Rings

My family has been loyal customers of Park Place Jewelers for over 10 years, which makes this experience even more disappointing. My fiancé purchased my custom engagement ring here and proposed while we were overseas in Portugal.

The very next day, I noticed the diamond was visibly loose and wiggling. Since this was my first diamond ring, I didn’t fully understand how serious that was at the time and continued wearing it for the rest of the trip—but I was stressed about it the entire time.

When I returned to the U.S., I had a local jeweler inspect it. They showed me close-up images confirming the prongs were barely holding the diamond in place and told me the diamond could have fallen out at any moment.

I later brought the ring back to Park Place Jewelers in Maryland, and they “fixed” it by re-tightening the prongs. It felt secure in-store, so I trusted it was resolved. However, just hours later—while driving back home to Pennsylvania—the diamond was loose again.

During this process, they repeatedly implied the issue may have been caused by me snagging the ring on something. However, a separate jeweler confirmed the entire setting was improperly built and not fitted to the actual shape of the diamond—meaning this was a workmanship issue, not wear and tear. The close-up photos clearly show visible gaps between multiple prongs and the diamond at several corners, indicating the stone was never properly secured.

I then sought another opinion locally and was told the entire setting needed to be replaced, costing around $1,000. I gave Park Place Jewelers the opportunity to make this right, either through partial reimbursement or covering the repair locally, but they refused and insisted I send the ring back to their manufacturer.

At this point, I had completely lost trust. This should have been done correctly the first time—especially for a custom engagement ring costing thousands. They had two chances to fix it, and both failed.

We ultimately had to spend an additional $1,000 out of pocket to properly fix the ring elsewhere.

This was supposed to be a meaningful and exciting purchase, and instead it turned into a stressful and frustrating experience that is still upsetting to think about.

I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing fine jewelry from Park Place Jewelers. Trust and quality are critical for something as important as an engagement ring, and unfortunately, this experience fell far short. My family and I will not be returning.

UPDATE AFTER BUSINESS RESPONSE:

I appreciate the response, but my frustration was never simply about the repair process itself — it was about losing trust in the quality and inspection process after receiving a brand new custom engagement ring with visible gaps in the setting and a loose diamond.

What is especially frustrating is that the need for a full remake was not initially identified by Park Place Jewelers. The original solution presented to us was simply tightening the prongs, despite the ongoing concerns with the setting itself. It was only after continued issues and another jeweler immediately recognizing the setting concerns that the conversation shifted toward a full remake. We were also warned that the diamond was at risk of falling out.

Given that the ring was originally sold to us in that condition after supposedly being inspected, I was understandably uncomfortable sending such an important piece back through the same process again. My concern from the beginning was the craftsmanship and security of the ring itself, not simply where the repair would take place.

I shared my experience so others purchasing custom fine jewelry understand why this situation was so upsetting.
